About

EDUC 234. Educational Psychology

Human development and learning theories are studied in relation to the teaching-learning process and the sociocultural contexts of schools. Three hours outside of class per week are devoted to observing learning activities in public school elementary and secondary classrooms and working with students. This blog is a site for you to reflect on your tutoring experiences as they shape your growing understanding of teaching and learning.
You are required to blog two times a week, beginning Week 2:

  1. Add your comments to the weekly Required Responses. Your entry will consist of two parts. First, you will respond to a specific question that I will post that asks you to apply our course learning to the classroom you are attending. This section of your response will be approx. 3 paragraphs. Then, you  will offer other observations, considerations, questions and concerns that have arisen for you during the week. This section should be about 2 paragraphs.
  2. Reply to a classmate’s comment.  This reply should be a single paragraph in length.  These comments are essential to create a dialogic structure to the blog.  You may comment on a classmate’s original post or on his/her response to the required entry.
  3. Include some sort of graphic at least every other response, either the required response or the comment on the classmate’s response. This makes the blog more textured and interesting to all.

These are the minimum requirements.  You may, if you are so moved, write an additional post or comment on more than one fellow student’s response.

Happy blogging!
