Gender in the Classroom
Based on last week’s readings on moral development, including Gilligan’s response to Kohlberg, it is clear that gender identification can play a significant role in student development, learning, and behavior. What evidence of gendered behavior do you see in the classroom you are observing? Are any gender “regimes” evident in the classroom? Are students embracing or resisting those gendered expectations? In what ways has your gender /gender identity influenced your own educational experiences?
