Identity Crises!
Consider what stage of identity development the students you are observing would fall into according to Erikson’s theory of psychosocial development. In what ways do the classroom interactions and atmosphere you observe promote or deter healthy identity development? (Note: you might find it useful to refer to the handout you completed from your grade-grouped discussion last Thursday.)
How would you classify yourself within the four proposed stages of Marcia’s extension of Erikson’s theory? Defend your choice with specific examples of why you qualify to be at the stage you’ve determined. (Note: you might want to wait till after class on 10-12 to complete this section of the blog.)
